Speaking IV Dec 24th attendance alternative

We are planning on having class on December 24th. However, if you cannot attend, you can do the following instead of coming to class and still not be counted absent.

You will need to record 1000 words from a book or books in the English reading garden. You can record one book or several books. Your recordings will be made at the computer center and put into Mr Tomei’s shishobako Speaking09 folder. You will then add them to your blog, including the information about the book in reference form. For example:

Brown, Marc. (2003). Arthur and the School Pet. New York: Random House.

The number of words is listed on the book or inside the book. Suspense crime/adventure or horror" will 'read better' than romance/history or non-adventure dramas

You MUST finish these recordings December 7th and post them to your blog by December 14th. If you need help recording, please contact Mr Tomei.

Here is a picture of a book from the English reading garden showing where the word count is

You can read 3 books that have 350 words each, 2 books that have 500 words each, one book that has 1000 words, or any combination.

Some books have, like the one below, have the word count on the inside. Note that this one also has a cd so you can listen to it before your read it.

Here is an example of a bad reading. Please don't to this

Here is an example of a good reading.
